Arvel AllemanJuly 14, 1924 - July 15, 2013Thatcher: Arvel Edwin Alleman, 89, of Thatcher, Idaho passed away on Monday, July 15, 2013 at his home.Arvel was born on July 14, 1924 in Bern, Idaho the son of Edwin L. and Vera Humpherys Alleman.He was raised in Bern and also lived in Montpelier, Idaho where he graduated from High School. Arvel served in the Army during WWII. He married Arlene Barney on June 23, 1948 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.They lived in Stevensville, Montana for 10 years and have lived in Thatcher, Idaho for over 44 years.Arvel was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had served as Counselor, Branch Presidency, Bishop, Counselor and also in Scouting.He enjoyed woodworking and especially spending time with his family.He is survived by his wife Arlene, and two sons, and three daughters, Gerald and Jolene Alleman of Thatcher, ID, Boyd and Susan Alleman of American Fork, UT, Delaine Peterson of American Fork, UT, Peggy Alleman of Thatcher, ID, Marilyn and Scott Szabo of American Fork, UT. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren and three sisters Doreen Wells, Nola Alleman and Roma Robinson. He was preceded in death by a brother, sister, daughter and a grandson.Services will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 11am at the Thatcher-Williams Ward Chapel in Niter, ID. The family will visit with friends on Friday evening from 7-8 p.m. at the Church and on Saturday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church prior to services.
