Arnold R. "Arnie" Curley, age 73, a lifelong resident of Oscoda passed away on Friday, March 11, 2016. He was born on Sept. 30, 1942 in Harrisville to the late Harry and Helen Curley (nee Merkel). Arnie joined the United States Navy in 1959 and was honorably discharged in 1963. He married the former Bonnie Brown on Feb. 16, 1980 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oscoda. Arnie was a self-employed contractor and worked for several years for Curley and Son's Painting. He enjoyed dirt track racing, NASCAR, canoeing, hunting and being a practical joker. Arnie is survived by his wife, Bonnie Curley of Oscoda; three sons, Robert Curley of Parma, Chris Curley of Oscoda and Terry (Kathy) Curley of Oscoda; daughter, Shelly Curley of Fenton; three sisters, Silvia (Sam) Harmon, Rozann Curley and Mary (Ben) Calo; brother, Frank Curley; three grandchildren, Michael, Marcus and Emily; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Arnie was preceded in death by four brothers; Jerry, Charlie, Roger and Delbert. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 18 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the mass at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oscoda.
