van Beuningen, AntonetteAntonette H. van Beuningen, age 89, passed away on January 21, 2017. Antonette was born on July 31, 1927 in Zijtaart, The Netherlands to Adrianus and Franciena (Verwegen) Rovers. She was the second of eight children. In 1960 she moved to Appleton, Wisconsin so she could marry her husband, Albert van Beuningen. They were united in marriage on November 5, 1960 at St. Therese Catholic Church in Appleton. They enjoyed 46 years together until he passed away in 2006. Antonette had a beautiful smile which made everyone around her feel special too. She was selfless and simple, a wife, homemaker and companion for her family, friends and the elderly. She was known for her hospitality, a hot cup of coffee and some friendly conversation. She loved caring for her family, making home cooked meals and keeping a clean home. In retirement she loved to keep herself physically active by walking and riding her bike. She also enjoyed quiet hobbies like knitting socks, word puzzles, reading the newspaper and keeping up with current events. She liked talking with her sisters on the phone. She and Albert loved trips to The Netherlands to spend time with their brothers and sisters. The most memorable and special trips included a life-long dream to visit The Shrine in Lourdes, France and to see the Vatican in Rome, Italy. She will be sadly missed by her children, Kathy (Vince) Newkirk, Trudi (Bruce) Hamilton, Ingrid (James) Snyder, grandchildren, Quincy Newkirk and Gillian, MacKenzie and Kirsten Snyder, sister-in-law Annie Rovers, her six sisters, Tina (Joe) Vanden Acker of Kaukauna, Annie Broers, Dorrie (Joop) Linders, Jeanne Vermetten, Netty (Piet) Vermetten and Joke Kremers, all of The Netherlands, special sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary Steenbergen, Gerda Lagarde, Joke van Beuningen and Marinus van Beuningen, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Albert, brother Harry Rovers, brothers-in-law Frans Broers, Lambert Vermetten and Ad Kremers.
