He was born on July 8, 1944. On October 24, 1961 he married Patricia A. Parks, who preceded him in death on August 28, 1999. He is survived by his four sons, Scott (Nancy) Harman of Baroda, MI, Brian (Dolores) Harman of Walkerton, IN, Eric Harman of TN and Kelly (Wendy) Harman of South Bend; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; a long time loving companion, Pam Hurst and her family; a sister, Ruth Ann Nowakowski; and three brothers, Fred, William and Lew Leroy Harman. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Joel, Michael and Wally Harman. Mr. Harman worked for NIPSCO for 38 years. Tony filled his life with close family and friends. He was fiercely devoted to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There was never a time when they did not come first in his heart. Friends would say Tony was always full of laughter and sarcasm. He knew how to make you giggle. That little roll of his eyes and shrugging of his shoulder were never far behind. Watching deer, fox and turkey roam in his fields was one of Tony's favorite pass times. He cherished his home and land and his regard for wildlife and nature were part of his everyday life. Hunting, fishing and hiking were in his blood. Most of all we will miss Tony's ever presence in our everyday lives. His phone calls just asking how was your day were commonplace. His fatherly advise and direction always were on the mark. His warm smile and strength were always heartfelt. His hospitality was always generous. He will be abundantly missed. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday December 5, 2016 at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend.
