Annette Dillon Svoke, age 94, of Battle Creek died Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015 at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility. Annette was born on Dec. 11, 1920 in East Tawas the daughter of Arthur and Irene (Marentate) Dillon. She was a graduate of East Tawas High School in 1938 and then attended Iosco Normal School. She had been a resident of the area since 1960, coming from Mt. Pleasant. On Aug. 8, 1942, she was united in marriage to Joseph J. Svoke who preceded her in death. Annette was employed as a secretary in Probate Registry for Judge H. Read Smith. She also worked for George W. Toellers and LW Robinson's department stores in Battle Creek. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary in East Tawas. She enjoyed crafts and oil and water painting. She cherished her time with family and friends, and looked forward to any and all holidays. Surviving are her children, Joseph A. (Rachel) Svoke of Farmington Hills, Annette M. (Larry) Mack of Battle Creek, Bonnie L. (Anan) Kauffman of Tekonsha, Mary Jane (Robert) Cipcic of Battle Creek, Patricia A. (John) Wooten of The Villages in Florida, Carol L. (Alan) Smith of Kalamazoo and Jeannie M. (Dave) Weber of Homer; 18 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; and a sister, Jane Coffin. She was preceded in death by five brothers, John, Art, Robert (Barney), Bill and Tom; and three sisters, Rosie Haglund, Carol Wilkinson and Rita Johnson. Visitation will be held at Richard A. Henry Funeral Home Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m., with a Rosary at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 21 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Calhoun County Medical Care Facility, 1150 E.
