Anna Ruth Bryant, 93, of Bardstown, died Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at her daughter's residence. She was born on Aug. 14, 1920, in Taylorsville, a homemaker and member of Mill Creek Baptist Church where for more than 30 years she served as director of VBS, was a Sunday school teacher and member of the choir.She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph P. Bryant; and her parents, Jacob and Louisa Bell Love McGee.Survivors include eight daughters, Rhoda Jean (Jim) Crenshaw, of Bardstown, Betty Lou (Tom) Yankey, of Campbellsville, Dolly Ann (Lin) Ruby, of Louisville, Mary Patsy Fiedler, of Bardstown, Bonnie Jo (John) Burkhead, of Lexington, Ruth Sharlene (Cron) Broaddus, of Bloomfield, June Karen (Joe) Porter, of Taylorsville, Rebecca Lane (Joe) Foster, of Bardstown; two sons, Joseph P.'Tex' (Linda) Bryant II and Paul Jacob Bryant, both of Bardstown; 24 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 6, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with burial in Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Brother Leland Parks will officiate. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Thursday, June 5, and after 8:30 a.m. Friday, June 6, at the funeral home. The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to Mill Creek Church Cemetery. Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
