YORK Our beloved mother, Anna May Smith, 102, died on September 23, 2015 at The Brunswick at Longstown where she was a resident for the past 8 months. She was the wife of the late Edwin F. Smith who died on Dec. 1st, 1996. They celebrated 65 years of marriage. Born in York on May 23, 1913, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna M. (Smith) Gentzler. Mrs. Smith was employed for over 50 years in the sewing industry, retiring from Doe-Spun in the late 1970s. She continued to do alterations from her home until a few years ago. She was a member of Yorkshire United Methodist Church since 1958. Anna is survived by her three loving children, a son, Edwin F. Smith, Jr. and wife Sally, and two daughters, Stacia Eberly and Teena Jones and husband Stu, all of York. There are four grandchildren, William Smith, Matthew Smith, Brittin Sciuto, and Melissa Jones-Ricca; and three great-grandchildren, Jeremy Smith, Derek Smith and Kylie Sciuto. One great-great-grandchild, Tucker William Smith, was born on July 11, 2015. Anna was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters. The family would like to thank the staff at the Brunswick and Memorial White Rose Hospice for the care Anna received during this last phase of her journey. A celebration of her life will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 S. George St., York. Viewing will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Mt. Rose Cemetery.
