Anna Mae Husson Obituary

May 03, 1922 - Nov 17, 2014

This obituary is administered by:
CATONSVILLE, MD Anna Mae Husson, 92, formerly of York, died Sunday, November 16, 2014, at St. Agnes Hospital. She was the wife of the late Melvin R. Husson. Anna Mae was born on May 2, 1922, in York, only daughter of the late Elmer and Mary (Gangloff) Martin. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary Society. She was a longtime volunteer at York Catholic High School. She had graduated from there in 1940 and proudly supported her children as they pursued academic, athletic, and other extracurricular excellence there. After many years of caring for her home and family in York, she and her beloved Mel spent their last years at Charlestown Senior Living Community, where she was loved by the staff for her wonderful smile. There she found her artistic talents and produced many paintings, ceramics, and other crafts which are cherished by all who received them. The viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m Thursday at the John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 2114 W. Market St. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Rose of Lima Church, 950 W. Market St., with the Rev. Daniel Mitzel as Celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery. She is survived by her children, Robert J. Husson (Susan), of New Bern, N.C., Patricia A. Atkins (James), of Columbia, Md., Susan M. Swedler (William), of Naperville, Ill., Timothy R. Husson (Barbara), of Camp Springs, Md., Marie A. Wagner (Tom Burke), of Honolulu, Hawaii, Ann E. Osborne (Thomas), of Freehold, N.J.; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many devoted nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, Richard Husson (infant) and John Husson and a daughter Nancy Husson (infant). The family cannot thank the management and staff of Charlestown enough for the caring way Mel and Anna Mae were treated during their eleven years there. The family will miss them as much as they will miss "Miss Anna." Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rose of Lima Church, 950 W. Market St., York, PA 17404; or to Charlestown Benevolent Care Fund, 713 Maiden Choice Lane, Catonsville, MD 21228. KefferFH.com
