Dodge City - Anna Mae Clevenger-Cragg, 92, died December 3, 2016 at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City. She was born on June 23, 1924 in Bloom, the daughter of Walter Otto and Marjorie Ellen (Winkelman) Schmatjen.Anna Mae was raised in Bloom and graduated from Bloom High School. On October 18, 1941, she was united in marriage to A.E. (Bud) Clevenger on the Clevenger farm near Bloom. After their marriage, they lived on the family farm until 1965. Anna Mae enjoyed being a farm wife, helping out with many farm jobs, including harvest. She also enjoyed tending to a large garden and canning what she raised and taking care of her family. In 1965, they moved to Flagler, Colorado. In March of 1975, they returned to Dodge City. Bud preceded Anna Mae in death on September 23, 1982. She then married Merle Cragg in November of 1997. He preceded her in death on December 4, 2014.Anna Mae was a member of the First Missionary Church, Dodge City and the Southwest Singles Club.She is survived by two daughters, Patsy Craven and Alice McGee and husband Dennis both of Dodge City; one son, Jerry Clevenger of Flagler, Colorado; three stepsons, Gary Cragg and wife Connie of Meridan, Gene Cragg and wife Denice of Cimarron, and John Cragg and wife Tonya of Topeka; one stepdaughter, Marilyn Sanchez of Kansas City; two sisters, Bernadine Gebow and husband Cliff of Wheat Ridge, Colorado and Shirley May and husband Ed of Burlington, Colorado; five grandchildren; 11 step grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 17 step great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. In addition to both husbands, she is preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, James Craven; and four brothers, Claude, Marvin, Wendell, and Jimmy Schmatjen.Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Dodge City on Thursday December 8, 2016 at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Wednesday December 7, 2016 from Noon to 8:00 PM.
