Anita Grace LawrenceFT. MYERS, FL: Anita Grace Lawrence, 96, formerly of Gibsonburg, passed away on January 16, 2017 at Health Park Care and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Myers, FL. She was born on October 27, 1920 in Fremont, the only child of Harry and Fannie (Bonam) Ford. Anita graduated in 1938 from Clyde High School as valedictorian.During WWII, while employed with Bunting Brass, she met and married David Lawrence on January 6, 1940. Anita's dream was to own and operate a farm, so together they purchased their farm on the outskirts of Gibsonburg. In addition to farming, she was employed for 10 years with Atlas Industries.She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Gibsonburg, the Church Women and the Order of the Eastern Star, Fremont, OH Chapter. Upon her retirement, she enjoyed traveling the world with her many friends from the Gibsonburg Senior Citizens (WSOS).Anita relocated to Fort Myers, Florida three years ago to be near family and where she could relish in the warm weather and sunshine.During her stay with HealthPark Care and Rehabilitation Center, her favorite activities were to play and win Mexican Train Domino's and Blackjack.Surviving is her daughter, Linda Lawrence of Lima; son, Jerry (Cheri) Lawrence of Fort Myers, Florida; granddaughters, Laurel Odronic (Kristen Harlow) of Columbus and Dr. Shelley Odronic (Vitaliy Khizder) of Lima; and one great-grandson.She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, David.A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 23, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg. Pastor Robert Metheny will officiate.
