Angus Bruce Cunningham Jr.San AngeloGraveside service for Bruce Cunningham, 95, of San Angelo, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, in Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, under the direction of Johnson's Funeral Home, with Kevin McSpadden officiating.Bruce was born on Oct. 11, 1921, in Seadrift, Texas to Angus Bruce Sr. and Ruth Lee Cunningham, and peacefully passed away at Elsie Gayer Healthcare Center on Monday, Jan. 2, 2017. Bruce proudly served his country during
WWII, and was stationed at Pearl Harbor during the attack. He married Ruth Johnston on Dec. 7, 1963, and retired from Sears as an appliance repairman. Bruce took pride in and loved working in his yard and garden. He was a kind and caring man. Bruce is survived by two sons, Burton Johnston and Connie of Kirbyville, Texas, and Johnny Johnston and Kathy of Eunice, New Mexico; grandchildren, DeVonna James, Dana Heller, Laura Cunningham, Sharon Moore, Kris Johnston and Slade Johnston; and 11 great-grandchildren. Bruce also leaves behind his special "family" friends and neighbors, Pat Keating and Myrtle Hester. Bruce was preceded in death by his beloved wife Ruth; daughter, DeAun Raef; son Clifton Bruce Cunningham; and two brothers, Clifton and Cecil Cunningham.
