This obituary is administered by:
Amy Greenhill Wojtak 1974 - 2016 Surrounded by her loving family, Amy Greenhill Wojtak passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept. 2, 2016 in Glenbrook Hospital. She was born on Aug. 8, 1974, to Craig and Sylvia Greenhill. She married the love of her life, Rob Wojtak, on Oct. 16, 1999, and together they had three beautiful children, Ian (12), Luke (9) and Mia (5). Amy attended grade school and high school in Lansing, Ill. She was a 1996 graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Nursing. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. After graduation, Amy worked at Shriner's Hospital for Children in Chicago, Ill., where she developed a special relationship with the most resilient children. She continued to work at a few other hospitals before starting work at Abbott Laboratories as a Clinical Research Associate working on clinical studies. Amy's drive and passion took her in many different directions throughout her career at Abbott. She also finished her Master's Degree in Business Administration in 2004 from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. As much as she loved her work, she also loved her children. Amy made the decision to work part-time so she could spend more time at home with her children. She continued this schedule until she made the decision to stay home full-time in 2013. With three children and a successful career, Amy still managed to find time to volunteer at the schools for each of her children. She enjoyed every second of helping and working with all of the kids at St. Joseph Catholic Academy. Amy is survived by her adoring husband, Rob; amazing children, Ian, Luke and Mia; loving parents Craig and Sylvia Greenhill; brother, Dan and his wife Brie and their children, Vinny and Vivienne; grandmother, Rose Greenhill; father and mother-in-law, Barry and Katie Wojtak; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews, Karry and her husband Travis Hill and their children, Justin, Matthew and Nathan, Patrick and his husband Peter, Kevin and his wife Becky, and their children Ella and Brady. Amy was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Livio and Pia Fondriest, her paternal grandfather, John Greenhill, and her Uncle Jackie. Amy would like to thank Dr. Elaine Wade and the Oncology nursing staff at Glenbrook Kellogg Cancer Center for taking such good care of her and for jumping on board with Amy's drive and passion in pursuit of finding the right combination of medication to treat her cancer. We would also like to thank the St. Joseph Catholic Academy family for all their support and prayers throughout Amy's journey. Amy's legacy of strength and determination will live on forever. Keep on keepin' on! A memorial service will be held at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 1300 73rd St, Kenosha, WI on Tuesday, Sept. 27, with visitation from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and a service at 12 p.m. Per Amy's wishes, please dress in "happy" attire to the service. A Celebration of Life will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to METAvivor, Forward 4 Tobi, Do It For the Love Foundation, LIVESTRONG and St. Joseph Catholic Academy are appreciated.
