Amalia M. Hernandez, age 80, was born January 9, 1940 in Santiago, Dominican Republic to parents, Juan and Dominga Garcia and passed away peacefully June 13, 2020. 

Amalia is survived by her children, Hernandez, Fabian Hernandez, Humberto Galvan, Dominga Hernandez Garcia , Monica  Hernandez, Anna Hernandez and Veronica Hernandez Garcia Murillo; grandchildren, Erica Reyes, Adriana Garcia, Ilianna Garcia, Victoria Garcia, Fabian Garcia Edgar Garcia, Josue Garcia, Abigail Garcia, Alex Solis, Arianna Shultz, Isabella Shultz, Demarcus Galvan, Kyla Galvan, Kirsten Galvan, Breanna Tobias, Yasmine Tobias, Juan Ramirez, Christopher Montano, Christina Montano, Joanna Hernandez, Jackelina Hernandez, Jeremiah Murillo and Alberto Murillo; one great grandchild, Alexis Sapio; her brother, Pedro Garcia and sisters, Aida Magana and Valeria Garcia. 

Arturo married Amalia April 5, 1977. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved cooking and painting in her spare time. She enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys especially if they won, Her favorite song was "Blessings" by Laura Story. Amalia will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved her. 

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Monday, June 15, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, June 17, 2020 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. with a service to begin at 9:30 a.m. at Bethel Tabernacle, 1020 FM 1960, Providence, Rhode Island. Interment to follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Providence, Rhode Island. Arrangements have been entrusted to Claire Brothers Funeral Home.
