Althea Marshall HavilcakNovember 15, 1930 - February 26, 2015Althea Mary Clark Marshall Havlicak, 84, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 26, 2015 at her home in Boise ID. with loved ones by her side.One of nine children, Althea was born on November 15, 1930 in St. Anthony ID to Luvern Thomas and Cynthia Bigler Clark. At the age of 9, the family moved from St. Anthony to Pocatello ID. She attended Pocatello High School and Idaho State University. In 1946 she married Theodore (Ted) Marshall and they were later sealed in the Logan Temple. Ted and Althea raised a daughter Brenda and two sons, Jerry and Ted while successfully owning and operating the Polar Bear Café and The Highwayman Restaurant on South 5th Ave. in Pocatello ID for more than 30 years.In 1985, after Teds passing, Althea served a proselyting mission for the LDS church to Manchester England. Upon returning to Pocatello, she married Lowell Havlicak. She was employed by ISU's cosmetology and adult learning programs and the Supplemental Social Security Office. Lowell and Althea served a mission to Gallup New Mexico and then moved to Salt Lake City UT. Lowell passed away in 2006. When her health declined in February 2014 she moved to Boise ID to reside with her son Ted and daughter-in-law Mary Jo Marshall.Throughout her life she served faithfully in many callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She had a strong testimony and shared it often.Althea is survived by her sons Jerry L. Marshall (Marilyn) of Fairbanks AK, and Ted L. Marshall (Mary Jo) of Boise ID., and brothers Robert L. Clark of Pocatello ID, Stephen W. Clark (Georgiann) and Rodney T. Clark (Kay) of Salt Lake City UT.Althea was preceded in death by her husbands Ted and Lowell, daughter Brenda Kunz and son-in-law Chris J. Kunz of Vancouver WA., three sisters and two brothers. She leaves behind her loving grandchildren and their families who fondly remember good times with Grandma GG at her homes, the Highwayman Restaurant and the family cabin on Henrys Lake.Althea was generous and caring throughout her life and a friend to all. She worked and played hard and strived to serve and help others thereby touching the lives of many.Funeral services will be held Monday, March 2, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Highland 4th Ward LDS chapel (2300 Butte St.). The family will receive friends this evening from 6-8pm at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel (510 N. 12th Ave) and on Monday 1 hour prior to services at the church.
