Payne, Alma I.Alma I. Payne, 69, of Mt. Calvary, peacefully passed away in her home on Saturday, December 3, 2016 after a long illness. Alma was born on April 13, 1947 in Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania to George Waddell and Helen (Wise) Waddell. After graduating from Jersey Shore High School she enlisted in the United State Air Force. Upon moving to Sheboygan, Wisconsin she became employed with the Sheboygan County Sheriff's Department at the Detention Center then transferred to the Sheboygan County Register of Deeds office. She developed many wonderful friendships during her tenure with the County. One of her greatest passions was reading; losing herself in the different characters and worlds. She also had the uncanny knack of remembering odd and obscure facts. Later in her illness she was able to stay in touch with her family and friend through social media.Alma is survived by her three daughters; Catherine Malone, Charissa (Alan) Ruechel and Carey (Timothy) Schur; by her six grandchildren; Brian (Katrina) Payne, Jessie Payne, Patrick Malone, Ian Payne, Connor Ruechel and Alexandra Johnson; by her three great-grandchildren; Eli Payne, Evan Payne and Abilyn Malone; and by her youngest sister Ruth Mahaffey. She was preceded in death by her father George Waddell, mother Helen (Wise) Waddell, and by her five sisters, Mary Carpenter, Margaret Schwartz, Lila Edwards, Martha Horn and Thelma Bierly. She will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park after cremation by Ballhorn Chapel. Her final request was not to mourn her passing, but celebrate her life. A Celebration of Life will be held mid January.
