Alma Faye EellsMarch 25, 1918 - July 19, 2014Alma Faye Eells, our beloved family matriarch and "Boss" of the family, died on Saturday July 19, 2014 in Caldwell. She was born on March 25, 1918, in Alva, Oklahoma to George and Edna Secrest. She was a child of the Dust Bowl and Great Depression. Her memories of the clouds of dirt, known as rollers, were vivid. She married Corwin Castetter Eells on December 29, 1934 in Woodward, Oklahoma. As a young married couple, they followed Corwin's family to Idaho in search of a better life for their young family. Their journey took them to Marsing, where they settled in January of 1940. Alma resided there until June of 2012. She worked at J.R. Simplot Company and Carnation where her work ethic and people skills were valued by all of her co-workers. After retirement, she volunteered at the Marsing Senior Center, enjoyed weekly outings with her friends and continued her handwork; sewing, crocheting and embroidering. Her hands were seldom idle. Mom/Grandma Alma's family meals were the stuff of legends, fried chicken, homemade rolls, gravy, and all the fixin's, comfort food was her specialty. She was a member of the Followers of Christ Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, seven siblings and her daughter, Dixie Bledsoe. She is survived by her sons, Jay (Georgia) Eells, Dennis (Anne) Eells, Rick (Cathy) Eells, ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank her dear and special friends, Leona Prall, Bertha Weygandt and the kind caring staff at Autumn Wind. Graveside services will be Thursday July 24, at 10:30 AM at the Marsing-Homedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Marsing Senior Citizen Center, P.O. Box 481 Marsing, ID 83639. Condolences to the family may be sent to www.flahifffuneralchapel.com
