Funeral services for Allen Daniel "A.D." Wilson, age 84, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at Pope Funeral Home in Winnsboro, SC, with burial to follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Disabled American Veterans Association online at www.dav.org or DAV, 511 Violet St., W. Columbia, SC 29169.Mr. Wilson died on Saturday, October 15. Son of the late Robert Jefferson and Mattie Dimsdale Wilson, he was born on May 2, 1932, in Fairfield County. He was retired from the US Navy and served in Korea and Vietnam. Later he worked as a truck driver.He is survived by his former wife, Betty Sims Wilson; one son, Herman Stanton Wilson; and one daughter, Amy DeJesus, all of West Palm Beach, FL; two brothers, J. P. Wilson of Edgemoor and Dexter Wilson of Winnsboro; one sister, Jeroline Parker of Columbia; and three grandchildren. He was predeceased by one son, James D. Wilson; three brothers, three sisters, and one granddaughter.Family and friends may visit at the home of Crissie Wilson, 3868 Garlan Rd., and other times at the home.Pope Funeral Home is assisting the family.
