Nighbor, Alice A.Alice A. Nighbor, age 89, of Princeton, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at the Ripon Medical Center to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born on May 31, 1927, in Milwaukee a daughter of Anna Bartol. She was raised by her grandparents, Mike and Martha Bartol while her mother worked during the week in Milwaukee. Alice married Reuben Nighbor on August 23, 1947, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church parsonage in Princeton. She worked at the former Skogmos and Handcraft Company in Princeton. Alice was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Princeton and it's Gleaners Club, staying in her faith until her death. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, playing cards, watching birds and especially being with her family and friends. Alice is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Reuben Nighbor of Princeton; children, Sharon (John) Schwersenska of Oshkosh, Warren Nighbor of Princeton, Allan (Debra) Nighbor of Pickett, Janice Mlodzik of Oshkosh, Dennis (Barb) Nighbor of Princeton; 11 grandchildren, Jeremiah, Matthew and Nathan Schwersenska; Erica Roehl, Krista and Josh Nighbor; Shannon and Tim Nighbor; Christopher Nighbor, Melissa Irwin and Nick Nighbor; 17 great grandchildren; 2 brothers-in-law, LeRoy Nighbor, Phebian Nighbor; 5 sisters-in-law, Darlene (Jerry) Hunter, Ardell Schwersenska, Diane (Wayne) Martin, Iris (Jerry) Duel, Alice Nighbor; cousin, Jackie Frerichs; special friends, Elaine Kallas, Ray Salbago, Beatrice Mashuda, Ken Dibelius, Dave (Vicki) Pulvermacher, Elmer Reetz, Carolyn Stibb; other relatives and friends. A funeral service for Alice A. Nighbor will take place on Saturday, April 15, at 1:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church, 226 South Clinton St., in Princeton with Pastor John Stelter and Pastor Robert Pless conducting the service.
