Ali McClain Muhammad , age 74, died on Monday, February 4th, 2019 at his home in Newark, NJ. Born in Newark NJ, he was a proud graduate of North Plainfield High School.
Ail began his professional years as an employee of the Courier News before moving on to a career in real estate. He was a founding partner in Letter-Pompilio Century 21, in Plainfield.
Ail life-passion was sport. He was a fan of all but in his youth excelled as a semi-pro basketball player as well as a fast-pitch softball pitcher. His greatest athletic accomplishments however came on a racquetball court. He was a world-ranked player, winning numerous singles and doubles titles... most recently a National Doubles champion in July 2014. Since 2012 he's taken up frisbee with his cherished 3-legged canine pal, Nicky.
Surviving are his loving companion Sarah Sockolof ;his daughters: Jaime Muhammad and Jennifer Muhammad as well as three granddaughters: James Jones, Amber Gowans , Kadeem Jones Julianne Jones and Kevin Gowans. Also surviving are his son-in-law, Antwan Jones .
