Murphy, Alfred A. 91, of Wichita, KS passed away Thursday, July 28, 2016, in Wichita. Alfred was born on September 29, 1924 in El Dorado, KS, the son of Harry and Icy (Rutherford) Murphy. Alfred and Norma Murphy were united in marriage on April 12, 1947, in El Dorado. Alfred served as a Lieutenant in the United States Army Air Force during WWII as a pilot of a B-17 Bomber. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross Medal for his actions. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, siblings, Eva Lachenmyer and Virginia Sluss. Survivors include his loving children, Ray (Vivian) Murphy of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Karen (Paul) Radell of Wichita; sister, Mary (Chet) McCoy of El Dorado; grandchildren, Joshua (Sara) Radell of Wichita, Jessica Radell of New Orleans. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2016, at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita. A reception will follow the funeral service. Entombment will follow at Lakeview Mausoleum, Wichita. Memorials can be made to the Hillside Christian Church, 8330 E.
