Adolfo Campos Jr., 86, a longtime resident of Holman, passed away on Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, at Holy Cross Hospital in Taos.He was born on July 30, 1928, in Mora to his late parents, Adolfo Campos and Pablita Lucero Campos.A Catholic, he was a member of St. Gertrude's Church in Mora. Adolfo served in the United States Army from Aug. 8, 1943 to Oct. 18, 1944. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was a former
police officer in Cheyenne, Wyo., as well as a New Mexico corrections officer in Santa Fe.He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolfo Campos Sr. and Pablita Lucero; brother, Ignacio Campos; and daughter, Jeanette Campos.He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Josefita Campos, of the family home in Holman; sons and daughters, Robert Campos, Idean Villa, Eufelio Campos (Ignacia) and Ernest Campos (Kimberly), all of Holman; grandsons, Ernie Campos, Adam Campos (Brittany) and Aaron Villa (Sara); great-grandson, Isaiah Ludi; great-granddaughter, Ariana Campos; sister, Mary Venegas of California; brother, Felix Campos; sister-in-law, Nora Campos, both of Albuquerque; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Rosary services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Gertrude's Church in Mora with funeral services following the rosary. Father Dennis Dolton will serve as celebrant. Interment will follow at the Campos Family Cemetery in Holman with the following serving as casket bearers: Robert Campos, Ernest Campos, Adam Campos, Aaron Villa, Henry Sanchez and Robert Martinez.Visit Rogers Mortuary's website at
