Abel Aran Sr., 90, of Paia, Hawaii, passed on October 01, 2020 in his home in Las Vegas, NV. Abel was born on April 28, 1930 in the plantation village of Paia, Maui.
Abel, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, Nevada, has joined the Lord and gone to be with his loving wife of 53 years, Elizabeth Aran, who has been awaiting him.
Born in Maui, Abel eventually moved to Honolulu, Oahu where he resided for years before moving to the Big Island of Hawaii. He also lived in Oregon, Florida, Arizona, and California for periods of time.
Abel served our country in the Korean War as a Corporal in the Infantry, receiving one of the militaries highest awards, a Silver Star for his courageous acts of valor on the battlefield, along with a Purple Heart.
After he was discharged from the war, as a longtime boxing fan, he took on the challenge of becoming a successful boxing trainer leading one of his sons to become state champion on Hawaii, and then onto featherweight champion of the world.
He was a loving husband and father to 8 biological children who reside in Hawaii, Oregon, Nevada.
A celebration of life will be held on November 10th at 2pm in Maui, Hawaii. Address of service will be updated shortly.
