Angeline "Doretha" Maclin, daughter of the late Wilbur and Alice Jackson was born on March 29th, 1931, in Rawlings, Va. She entered into eternal rest on Wednesday July 12, 2017, at Coliseum Medical Center in Macon,Ga.Doretha accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Lovely Zion Baptist Church. She worked as Treasurer of the church and held various other positions. She graduated from Saint Paul High School in 1948. She enjoyed singing in the choir, spending time sitting on her porch, watching soap operas, doing crossword puzzles, talking with friends and family on the telephone and watching the hummingbirds feed.Doretha was united in marriage on July 23, 1949, to the late George Albert Maclin. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carnella Maclin in 2015. She leaves to cherish her memories six children; Charles Burns (Robin) of Varina, Va.; Ronald Maclin (Cathy) of Macon, Ga., Gwendolyn Hendrick of Richmond, Va.; George Maclin (Brenda) of Alberta, Va.; Jeffrey Maclin (Linda) of Lawrenceville, Va.; Elania Brown (Harves) of Chesapeake, Va.; and a devoted nephew, Larry (Doris) of Petersburg, Va.Doretha is survived by 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alice Humes and Gloria Jackson of Upper Marlboro, Md.; two brothers Clarence Jackson of Meredithville, Va., and Charles Jackson (Gladys) of Dinwiddie, Va.; brother-in-law, Russell Maclin (Rosa); five sisters-in-law, Constance Davis, Rocksy Pully, Arlene Maclin, Nanny Wyatt (Roland) and Louise Jackson; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Doretha had several dear friends and family members that were special. She had lifetime friends that were with her thru thick or thin, Lula Branch, Carrie Campbell, Ora Wyatt, Laura Granderson, Marion Taylor; and a special cousin, Rosa Pegram who provided unwavering love and support.Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at Hickory Run Baptist Church, Rawling, Va., where the pastor is Rev. James Walker and Rev. James E. Geters, Pastor of Lovely Zion, officiating. Burial to follow at Crestview Cemetery, South Hill, Va., immediately following services.
