Thelma Vilate Perkins Griffeth, 98, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at the Franklin County Medical Center in Preston, Idaho. She was born on May 22, 1915, in Preston, Idaho, to Joseph Marion and Nellie Bell Perkins. She married Douglas Griffeth on Nov. 30, 1932, in the Logan LDS Temple. Thelma enjoyed yard work and growing raspberries. She made great raspberry jam and lots of bread. She loved her family and her grandchildren and never missed a West Side game on the radio. She also made beautiful dolls and will be remembered for them.She is survived by her children: Betty Fredrickson, of Weston, Idaho; and Glen Griffeth, of McCammon, Idaho; eight grandchildren, 27 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Douglas, and a baby girl Thelma Beth Griffeth.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, in the Preston 8th Ward LDS Chapel, 213 S. 200 East in Preston, with Bishop Jerry Petterborg conducting. A viewing will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at the church. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Webb Funeral Home in Preston.
