On Saturday, January 24, 2022, our beloved Terrance Malcolm Walcott, 69, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, completed his journey in the circle of life. Affectionately called "Storo", Terrance was born on April 21,1952, in Arima, Trinidad to the late Agnes Ruby Walcott and Alfred Storey.
As a young boy, Terrance enjoyed playing soccer “football" and running track with Abilene Sports Club in his hometown of Arima. He attended Benjamin Cardozo High School in Queens, NY. Upon graduation, he started his career as a conductor with the Long Island Railroad (LIRR), a job he loved as he was able to interact with passengers and meet new friends. Shortly after he met Carol Grant, who he later married and had three children together.
Terrance took great pride in his role of being a father to the late Lauren Melissa Walcott, Brandon Malcolm Walcott and Shannon Leanne Fox. He was father-in-law to Edward Fox, grandfather to D’Andre Saunders, the late Peanut Walcott Fox, Cody Ramnarine, Kylie Dickenson, Brandon Walcott, Holly Fox and Penelope Fox. Terrance was also a beloved brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, great uncle and warm friend to many. After many years working on the LIRR Terrance met and married Rose Marie Dillhoff Walcott.
Terrance loved to travel to fun places each summer with his children, wife, nieces and nephews. He was an avid sports fan and music lover. He especially enjoyed listening to and dancing to Soca/Calypso as well as other genres of music.
As with many people in the Caribbean, Christianity was deeply embedded in Terrance at an early age. He never lost his spiritual compass. So much so, that immediately upon migrating to Florida, he found a church he enjoyed and began worshiping at.
Some days you could find Terrance outside on his patio smoking a cigarette and reading a novel; or cooking a delicious curry meal in his kitchen.
Although he had his struggles, he was always a man of good conversation, debate and laughs. He had a great sense of humor, so much so that he would crack himself up laughing at his "funny" jokes.
What a legacy, what a life! We, the family, invite each of you to keep him alive in your hearts. We were each touched by his presence and we are better to have known and loved Terrance Malcom Walcott. Thank you for being a part of his journey and for your participation today in his Celebration of Life.
