Forever Remembered

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Sean "Battleaxe" Batty, 29, of Regina, Saskatchewan, on May 5, 2022. Sean was born on November 18, 1992 in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Over the years Sean took interest in many different hobbies. Sean was a long time passionate player of the online game RuneScape. Sean had a creative fire in him which he presented it to everyone through his love for playing and recording music. Sean learned to play 7 different instruments, but he had a particular love for his B.C Rich Warlock electric guitar. Sean was a loyal fan of the Oakland Raiders, Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Kings and Baltimore Orioles. Sean enjoyed playing sports, with a particular interest for basketball. Sean participated in many sports during his time in elementary school. He was part of the boys basketball team, lacrosse team, wrestling team, cross country running while attending Dr.George Ferguson elementary school. He was most proud of winning a bronze medal, his one and only medal ever, while part of the wrestling team. Sean also played indoor and outdoor soccer, curling, touch football and cross country skiing outside of school in his youth. Sean took pride in being the underdog and always gave his full effort in everything he did.

He was known to be a reliable friend who you could always approach to ask for help. Sean was outspoken, funny and caring and he enjoyed helping others when they were in need. He cared deeply for his friends, family and coworkers. If you got him talking about something he felt passionate about then he would talk your ear offf as he shares his knowledge with you. He would often show you his quick wit, and his often sarcastic or dry humour.

Sean is survived by his mother Laura Batty, his father Myron Lysenko. His sister Aliza. His half-sister from Medicine Hat,AB Katie and his half-brothers from Medicine Hat,AB B Luke & Zack, and his many Uncle's, nephews and nieces. As well as his numerous cousins overseas in Wales, England, Poland and Ukraine. He was predeceased by his grandparents Charles & Marie Batty.

There will be a Funeral Service held in honour of Sean's life on May 13, 2022 at 1:00 p.m at the Silton Cemetary in the R.M of McKillop #220.. There will be a gathering at the Craven Community Centre until 4:00 p.m following the service to share memories of your time spent with Sean.
