This obituary is administered by:

In Loving Memory Of Our Beloved

Sterling Monet Hilton, son of the late James and Minnie Hilton, was born on January 20, 1955. He gained his wings on June 18, 2019 after a brief illness.

Sterling was educated in Baltimore city public schools and graduated from frederick Douglass High School where he studied drafting. This skill enabled him to become employed with gray and son, Inc. Paving company for many years. They paved many of the roads throughout Pennsylvania and also parts of Baltimore county and Baltimore City. He remained a dedicated worker until he was unable to return to work. He was very proud of his work.

Sterling was also extremely handy. He would often say “I’ve been working on houses for 40 years.” He was also skilled when it came to working on cars. He also loved to cook.

Sterling came from a loving family with a love for music. Every occasion or family gathering ended with karaoke singing. Sterling played lead and bass guitar. He sang and played gospel music in the Baltimore and Virginia area. He sang with “Willie Holmes and the spiritualairs” and “God’s Promise” and accompanied many others when they called. He loved old music and had a beautiful voice to sing it.

In 2001 he met Linda and a year later they were married on July 6, 2002. He used his gift to sing his bride down the aisle to “This Is Not An Ordinary Love.” On that day their journey began. In July 2017 he was diagnosed with cancer, but his realistic approach to life made this part of their journey a lot easier to bear. Their motto was, “ In the hardest times, love will see us through.”

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted and loving wife, Linda, Five Children, Krista , Sterling(Boot), Cornelia, Shawn and Yolanda; Ten Grandchildren, Shacara, BreOn, Shaniya, Sterling(Pop), Keturah, Aliyah, Erryn, Kamren, Monet, and Chase; One Great-Granddaughter, Ryleigh. Five Brothers, James, Calvin, Ricky, Anthony and Jerry; three sisters, Patricia, Delores and Geraldine; one stepsister Maria Baylor; one aunt Annie Mae Gavins and host of Nieces, Nephew, relatives and friends.
