Stella Elizabeth Smiley, 74, of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, Feb. 8, 2019, in a local hospital.

She attended Howard High School. She was formerly employed by St. Barnabas Nursing Home. Stella was a former member of Mt. Ollie Primitive Baptist Church and New Covenant Fellowship Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Smith; father, Fulton Hill, Sr.; son, Rodney Hill; brother, Fulton Hill, Jr.; sisters, Angela and Anita Hill; grandson, Robert James Davis Jr. ; granddaughter, Demetria Davis; and cousin, Diane Oliver.

Survivors include her ex-husband of 36 years, Bayless Smiley; sons, Stephen Hill and Rolandus Hill; daughters, Sharon McDonald, Cynthia Hill (William) Bruce, and Sheila Smiley, all of Chattanooga; 26 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; brother, Tyrone Hill of Dayton, OH; best friend, Dorothy Woodruff; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be on Friday, Feb. 15, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, Feb. 16, at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Brother Rolandus Hill as the eulogist. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.
