Hymer, Shawn, A.  age 44  of Huber Heights, Ohio passed away suddenly after a long illness in Columbus Ohio on April 21st, 2020.

    He was born on April 5th, 1976 to father Earl Hymer Jr. and mother Vickie Dement, (Moffitt), in Kettering. 

    Shawn is survived by his son Bret Hymer, sister Tricia(David) Witkowski, brothers Don(Lily) Potter,  Dan Fisher, Ryan Hough and Patrick Brittain and many friends and family.

    He is preceded in death by both his parents. A brother James and nephew Warren Shawhan.

    Shawn Hymer was the guitarist and songwriter for the Dayton local metal band Destracore.  Over the last 20 years Shawn has helped write or contribute to 40 plus songs and was featured on guitar for 3 CD’s. At the time of his death he was working on a new CD with his band.  Shawn will always be known as one of the most confident and energetic stage performers around the Dayton area. Shawn was the life of the party to his musical peers and his friends amongst the music scene.  His love for music and his loyalty to his band mates were unprecedented. Shawn will forever live on through his music. ( Donnie)
