Sammie Mae Caldwell, 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 15, 2019 in Waco Texas.

She leaves her husband of 83 years, Thomas Tyson Caldwell; her son, Thomas Caldwell Jr.; and her other son Tyrone Caldwell; her cousin Alisha Dickson; and many grandchildren.

Born and raised in Waco, the daughter of Tyrese and Isabella Gunther.

In her early years, Mrs. Caldwell would help out at numerous non profit organizations before graduating from highschool in 1956, she attended Baylor university where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority and obtained her bachaelor's in economics all while being a division one runner. She met her husband at Wesley United methodist Church in 1960 and had her first child in 1965. 

After graduating, Mrs. Caldwell entered the job market and stayed for many years while raising her children until she was forced to retire due to health reasons.

Mrs. Caldwell had a passion for helping those in need in every way she could. For years even after retiring, Sammie would run little by little day by day; pursuing her passion until the end.
