Rosella Eckert BURLINGTON — Rosella V. Eckert age 89 passed away on November 15, 2012. She was born on February 20, 1923 in the city of Burlington to John and Elizabeth (Siehoff) Freund. She attended St Mary's Catholic Church, grade school, and graduated from Saint Mary's Catholic High School. She was united in marriage to Donald C. Eckert on October 9, 1948 at St Mary's Catholic Church. They resided on the Eckert family farm in the town of Burlington and enjoyed fifty-two years of married life together. She was a member of St Charles Catholic Church. Her husband, Donald, preceded her in death on January 29, 2000. She worked as a secretary for Attorney Stanley Kelley, the Burlington Brass Works, the Pure Milk Association, and Mays Insurance. She volunteered for the Burlington Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed retirement with her husband traveling in the United States, Canada, and Europe. She also enjoyed playing golf and bridge with friends. She was devoted to her husband, three sons and five grandchildren. Survivors include her three sons: Drs. Richard (Ellen Rourke) Eckert, Baltimore, Maryland, David (Joan) Eckert, Wausau, Wisconsin, and Ronald Eckert, Sturtevant, Wisconsin. She is further survived by her five grandchildren: Graham, Kevin, Andrew, Elizabeth, and Nora Eckert. Other survivors include a sister in law Bernice Beck, brother in laws, Roman Ketterhagen and Leslie Eckert, and her very close friend Eunice Getka. Many nieces, nephews and life long friends also survive her. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Elizabeth Freund, in laws John and Rose Eckert, and her sister Verena Ketterhagen. She was also preceded in death by her brother and sister in-laws: Rudolph and Florence Eckert, Roman and Leona Eckert, Jeanette and Carl Packay, Monica and George Bolger, Esther and Mike Ruble, Janet Eckert, and Robert Beck. Our family would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation for all the loving care and attention she received from Dr. Katarzyna Zaremba and her staff, the Pine Brook Pointe staff, Seasons Hospice, and also to Amy McCarthy. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at the Daniels Family Funeral Home from 4:00 to 6:45 P.M. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St Charles Catholic Church at 7:30 P.M. Burial will be a private at St. Charles Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St Charles Catholic Church and School.
