A CELEBRATION OF LIFE
Roosevelt O'Neal Jr. was gifted to this world on Thursday June 20th, 1963 to the late Irene A. O'Neal and Roosevelt O'Neal Senior. Roosevelt ascended from this life Sunday February 27th, 2022. We only had Rose for 58 short years, however that didnt stop him from from living a full life. Roosevelt graduated a proud Duck from Fredrick Douglass High school, class of 1981. It was there where Roosevelt displayed his talents on the football field, the basketball court and the wrestling mat. In fact it was wrestling that earned him a scholarship to Morgan State University. Shortly after, Roosevelt left college to enlist in the United States Army where he served from 1984 to 1991, earning him the rank of Sergeant. In the army Roosevelt discovered his love for traveling, taking his family with him wherever he went. He was a resident of Washington State, Texas and Germany, but deep down Baltimore, Maryland was his home. Baltimore for him meant family, love and The Ravens!
Roosevelt returned home in 1989 where he went on to bless the staff and patients of The University of Maryland Medical Center and Becton Dickinson with his good old fashioned home cooking from the heart. Staff would request that their meals be prepared by Roosevelt because he was a magician in the kitchen! He could make a delicious meal out of anything in your pantry. Yes Roosevelt loved to cook, but he also had a deep appreciation for sports and music. You would often catch him recording music videos and sports games to add to his vhs collection. Roosevelt left us due to heart complications, but for those who knew Rose knew there was nothing small about his heart. He was known for being a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on and a giver of some of the best advice ever. We will miss his belly laughs, his sense of humor, his ability to be sensitive and strong at all the right times. For Knowing what to say and how to say it so that you recieve it. Mostly we will miss his passion for family and unconditional love.
Roosevelt leaves to cherish his memory: his wife Adriene R. O'Neal, his two daughters Leslie R. O'Neal and Jennifer O'Neal; seven sisters Linda, Charlene, Francine, Cynthia, Vivian, Donna and Kimberly; two brothers Warren and Kenneth; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In heaven Roosevelt will join his mother and father; oldest brother Robert; nephews David, Ricky and two great nephews Ma'Ryan and Steven Jr. and his niece Teresa.
