This obituary is administered by:

Baker, Peggy F. Peggy Baker, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on April 21, 2017 following a period of declining health. Peggy was born on May 12, 1932 in Chariton, Iowa and was the daughter of Donald and Vera Riseley of San Diego, CA. She is survived by her loving husband Dale with whom she shared 64 years, and her two children and their spouses, Brant and Karen Baker of Mesa, AZ, and Jill Baker and Su-san Lancoon of Framingham, MA. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Kellen Escoto (Danny), and Grayden Baker, as well as one great-granddaughter, Mariella. Peggy moved to San Diego with her parents at an early age and was a graduate of Hoover High School in 1950. While at Hoover, she was a song leader and was in charge of the Senior Prom. She was an accomplished dancer and performed in many venues, including as a solo performer. Following high school, she worked for a local bank in San Diego as a teller, and later on for the San Diego Gas & Electric Company where she helped put Dale through college. While in San Diego, Peggy served as President of the CPA wives auxiliary and on the Board of Directors of the San Diego Junior League. Throughout her entire life she was very active in church work, supporting various charitable efforts of the church, serving in the choir, and as a deacon. A world traveler, Peggy lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Sao Paulo, Brazil, Greenwich, Connecticut and Tokyo, Japan as she supported Dale in his work at Deloitte & Touche. Upon Dale's retirement, they moved to Incline Village, Nevada, and then to Scottsdale, Fountain Hills, Prescott and finally Phoenix. She enjoyed taking cruises and traveling to visit her children and grandchildren as they moved numerous times throughout the U.S. In Tokyo, she served as President of the Women's Society of the American Community Church. In 1977, she became a member of P.E.O., a woman's philanthropic organization, and continued to enjoy her sisterhood in this organization until the time of her death. Peggy liked being surrounded by family and friends, and was always up for a party or get-together. She enjoyed her hobbies of sewing, cooking, reading, playing games, and doing jigsaw puzzles. A loving wife and wonderful mother, Peggy was a thoughtful, warm and caring person, and will be sorely missed by her husband, her family and her many friends. A celebration of Peggy's life is currently being planned and will be held at Sagewood, 4555 East Mayo Blvd, Phoenix, AZ towards the end of May. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to World Vision with a designation for the Clean Water Fund at P.O. Box 78481, Tacoma, WA 98481 or to at 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014.
