Olivia Tucker Scott June 10, 1925 - November 19, 2016 Raleigh Olivia Tucker Scott, 91, passed away on November 19, 2016 in Raleigh, NC in the presence of her family. She is survived by four children Tucker Hopper, Jeff Scott, Sue Scott and Sally Scott. She is also survived by six grandchildren and two great grandchildren who knew her as grandmother 'Gray'. Olivia was born on June 10th, 1925 to Clay and Carrie Tucker and grew up in Woodville, MS where she lived a colorful childhood which led to her wonderful talent for storytelling. She raised her children in Waynesville, NC and worked as a school administrator at Tuscola High School. She moved to Raleigh, NC in 1975 where she worked for the Department of Administration in Building Services, eventually becoming Director of Janitorial Services. Olivia retired in 1990 and moved to Gastonia, NC to be closer to her grandchildren. In 2001 she moved back to Raleigh, NC where she lived until her death. Olivia never met a stranger and will be remembered for her open and warm approach to those she befriended. She has been referred to as mama, sister, and close friend by many beyond just her family. She loved spending time with her family and friends, crossword puzzles, reading, attending the North Carolina Symphony, drawing and painting, shopping and of course telling the occasional off-color joke. She will be greatly missed, but forever remembered. A celebration of life will be held this spring in Raleigh, NC.
