She married George Thompson and they lived together in Gary, Indiana. Together they raised 5 children Melissa Starks (Ronald Starks), Ethel Diouf (Papa Diouf), Eugenia Murphy, Georgette Miller, Tammy Thompson . She is also survived by 8 grandchildren.

Nancy worked at United States Postal Service until she retired in 15 and was passionate about affecting the most positive change in people.
