Michael R. "Mike" WilhitePEORIA - Michael R. "Mike" Wilhite, 62, of Peoria, passed away at 2:27 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016, at Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue, in Peoria. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m., prior to services at the funeral home.Mike was born on March 30, 1954 in Davison, MI, a son of Lee Roy and Laura Mae (Hull) Wilhite. They preceded him in death, along with his sister, Pamela Carey. He married Donna Kay Riggs on December 15, 1980 in Peoria. She survives.He is also survived by his daughter, Jennifer Michelle (Marvin) Wilson of Abingdon; sons, David (Nicole) Wilhite of Peoria and George (Nichole) Wilhite of Davenport, IA; brothers, Donald Wilhite of Davison, MI, Gerald (Teresa) Wilhite of Florida and Robert (Kathy) Wilhite of Davison, MI; and seven grandchildren.Mike was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving from January 16, 1974 to January 10, 1977, and earned the National Defense Service Medal and was an expert with the M16.He graduated from Bailey Technical School in St. Louis and was an ASE Certified Mechanic.
