Martell Gary Lowe passed away at the age of 66 after a long and courageous battle with cancer Dec. 14, 2010. He was surrounded by his family when he left this earth to meet his loving father in heaven.Martell was born on July 12, 1944, to Darrel Clifton Lowe and Marguerite Packer Finley. He grew up in Salt Lake City as well as a short time in California. He spent many summers in Baggs, Wyo., working on his uncle Ronald's ranch. He attended Olympus High School then graduated from Granite High.Martell met the love of his life, Pam Robinson, while working at the Hotel Utah Motor Lodge in Salt Lake City. They were married on June 28, 1962. They were blessed with five beautiful children, as dad always said.Dad loved everything about the outdoors. He would take his family camping, horseback riding, hunting, fishing and on many vacations. Martell loved coaching his sons' baseball teams. Dad said the thing he loved the most was his wife, Pam, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. He also loved sharing his testimony with everyone. Martell was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he held many callings. He loved going to the temple regularly. He worked at Joe Doctorman and Sons Meat Packing Co. in Salt Lake City then moved his family to Paradise to work for Tri-Miller Meat Packing Co. in Hyrum. He resigned from that job to start his own dairy farm. His last and most favorite job of all was working for Legrand Johnson Construction. He hauled gravel and heavy equipment between several states until the time of his diagnosis of cancer. This caused his retirement. Martell loved supporting his children and grandchildren in whatever they chose to be involved with. He touched many lives through his hard work and love. His example and faithfulness remained strong and true even until the end. He taught his children the meaning of hard work and taking pride in the things they did.
