Marion was born on February 17, 1940 to Rudolph and Annie Mae Travis who preceded her in death.

Marion attended Phillips High School in Chicago.

Marion married the late Calvin McDale and three children were born. She later married late Louis Carter and bore two more children.

Marion was a giver, especially during Christmas. She looked out not only for her children but neighbors children as well. 

During the holidays she would cook and feed her neighbors in the Judge Green senior homes. She also was a seamstres, she knitted and sewed hats, scarfs, clothes and blankets. She was truly a virtuous woman of God.

Marion was caring and loving to everyone she met. she always smiled and kept everyone laughing.

Marion traded her earthly garments for heaven robes August 4, 2021.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her four daughters, Qiana, Diane, Deborah, Christina. Twelve grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and a host of niece and nephew.
