Margaret "Bunny" ShowalterGrand LedgeMargaret Estelle "Bunny" Showalter died peacefully on March 22, 2017 at Sparrow Hospice at 92 years of age.  She was born on September 2, 1924 in Aurora, IL to Russell and Margaret Foley, and married Richard Howell Showalter in 1946. Margaret is survived by her husband of 71 years, Richard (Dick); four children: Richard Showalter Jr (Susan), Joseph Showalter (Judy), Sally Showalter Ross (Paul) and Peter Showalter (Christine); seven grandchildren: Stacy Coley, Kelly Showalter, Emily Hoffman, Nate Showalter, Leigh Ross, Ariel Showalter, and Mike Wallingford; and six great grandchildren: Jackson Coley, Isla Coley, Nora Showalter, Molly Showalter, Tavia Hoffman, and Calum Hoffman. She was preceded in death by her brothers Donald and Russell Foley.She attended DePauw University in Greencastle, IN where she majored in Home Economics and was a member of Alpha Phi. She also earned a degree in Library Technology from Lansing Community College.   She lived in Aurora, IL, Greencastle, IN, Terre Haute, IN, Southbend, IN, Milwaukee, WI, Marquette, MI, Rockford, IL, and Grand Ledge, MI.Margaret is remembered by her family as a lively, social person who enjoyed bridge, travelling, quilting, reading, and sitting in her backyard. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren to whom she sent many letters and cards. She developed a strong interest in genealogy, tracking her family's history over many generations.
