Lucjan Jerzy Szczepaniak Obituary

Jun 14, 1945 - Sep 01, 2020

This obituary is administered by:

A hardworking man, with a caring heart

Lucjan Jerzy Szczepaniak, age 75, of Philadelphia, PA, left this world suddenly on September 1st, 2020.

Relatives and friends are invited to his mass of Christian burial on September 8th, at 11am at St. Adalbert's church located at 2645 E Allegheny Ave, Philadelphia , PA 19134 where the family will receive after 10:30am. Interment to follow, Ressurection Cemetery located in Bensalem, PA.

Lucjan was born in Leszkowice, Poland on June 14th, 1945 to Antoni Szczepaniak (father) and Josefa Bolesta (mother). He was the youngest out of three. During his time in Lublin, Poland, Lucjan served in the Polish Army for about three years. Shortly after leaving the army, he met his first wife (Bozena) whom he had two beautiful daughters with, Edyta and Agnieszka. In 1992 he decided to leave his homeland and come to the United States. Being a brave man, he decided to take any job that was offered to him just to get on his feet, until he found a trade he really liked and was very skilled at, upholstery. He was never afraid to work hard or get his hands dirty. He was always punctual (something we admired about him), and never took a sick day. Little by little he made a wonderful life for himself in a new country. Lucjan dedicated his life to being a caring, tough as a nail, and hardworking man. Although he was not the emotional kind, he showed his love to his daughters and grandkids in various ways. He was an extremely proud grandfather and always showed up whenever you needed him. He had a generous heart and would often go out of his way to make sure everyone is okay.

He was known for being an early bird and having a sweet tooth. You would never find him sleeping past 6am or be in his car without his favorite peppermint candy. He loved jamming out to his favorite oldies radio station, and even sang along (not very well) to his favorite songs. He was a wonderful person and to say that he had left a enormous void in our hearts when he left this world, is an understatement. He will be forever missed by our family and will always be in our hearts and memories. Knowing he is no longer in pain, brings us peace.

Lucjan is survived by his wife (Krystyna), who he was married to for 13 years , his two beloved daughters (Edyta and Agnieszka), his son-in-law (Sebastian) his beautiful grandchildren (Patrycja, Damian, Dominic, and Natalia) and other long-distance family and friends.

We love you so much and will miss you dearly. Please watch over us.

The family of Lucjan Szczepaniak wishes to thank everyone who has reached out with their condolences and gifts during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers please donate to American Heart Association (www2.heart.org)
