Mother Loretha Fencher Edwards, age 77 resident of Lake City, Florida passed away March 8, 2013, at Shands at Lake Shore Hospital. She was born on December 3, 1935 to the late Gladys Mitchell Fencher and the late George Fencher.Mother Edwards joined the St. Paul Missionary Baptist church back in the 1960's, she served faithfully until her health failed her. Mother Edwards worked at the N.E. Macclenny State Hospital for 26 years until she retired.She was united in Holy Matrimony on January 29, 1955, to Leo Frank Edwards Sr. who preceded her in death. Out of this union was born (1) son Leo Frank Edwards, Jr. who also preceded her in death.She leaves to cherish her memories (1) daughter: Francena Edwards Wynn of Lake City, FL.; (4) Sisters: Georgia Mae Thomas of Tampa, FL., Callie Pearce of Tangerine, FL., Willa Dean Williams of Pelham, GA., and Ida Bea Mitchell of Albany, GA.; (1) Brother: Joseph Fencher of Pelham, GA.; Aunt, Emma Frazier of Lake Wales, FL.; Aunt-in-law: Gloria Reese of Pelham, GA.; Sister-in-laws: Eloise Fencher of Ft. Lauderdale, FL., Marie Fencher of Pelham, GA., Mildred Edwards of Delray Beach, FL; Grandchildren: Kunta Kinte Dunning (Tasha) of Lake City, FL., Christopher Edwards of Coco, FL.; Great Grands: Infinitty Dunning, Aa'Viya Sanaa Dunning, all of Lake City, FL.; (1) Great Great Grand child: Ja'Cha McClellan of Lake City, FL.; (1) close devoted neighbor and friend Annie (Bell) Singleton; close special friends: Gerald Clark, Barbara Jefferson, and Bonnie Allen, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.Funeral services for Mother Loretha Fencher Edwards will be 1pm Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Alvin Green, Officiating, interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
