Lois Ann Masacek-Kapelka, age 70, of Oscoda passed away on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016. She was born on Sept. 14, 1946 in Bucks County, Pa. to the late Joseph and Floria Masacek (Bendar). Lois graduated from Michigan State University in 1968 with her bachelor's degree. She taught drama, speech and English for 34 years at Oscoda Area High School. Lois also directed many of the school plays during her years there. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sailing and loved her cats. Lois is survived by her brother, Robert Masacek. Visitation will take place on Thursday, Sept. 29 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Buresh Funeral Home in Oscoda. A funeral service will be held on Friday, Sept. 30 at 10 a.m. at Buresh Funeral Home in Oscoda with Reverend Thomas Anderson officiating.
