Mr. Leslie "Bubba" M. Andrews Jr. of 7600 Tangier Court, Matoaca, VA, owner of Schrum's Auto Service in Ettrick, VA, at the age of 73, went to dance in heaven on Friday, October 21, 2016.Bubba was born on Second Avenue in Ettrick, on February 9, 1943. He attended school at Ettrick Elementary and Bowling Junior High School. At the age of 17, Bubba joined the United States Navy. He was one of the first sailors to be commissioned aboard the destroyer USS Sampson DDG-10. He proudly served his country in active and inactive duty until 1967.Bubba worked hard most of his life as a business owner; he also worked for Stackhouse and retired from Phillip Morris. Upon retirement, he continued to work daily at his automotive shop until 2010.Bubba was a member of the American Legion, Richmond Shag Club, Hopewell Moose, and Dog Gone Hunt Club. First and foremost, Bubba cherished his family. He was very proud of being a brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle. He had an overwhelming sense of pride when it came to his children. Prior to his stroke in 2010, Bubba worked hard, but he always found time to play hard with his family. Bubba loved to spend time hunting, fishing, dancing, and boating. All who knew him loved his sense of humor and devoted dedication to his friends and family.He is predeceased by his parents, Leslie M. Andrews Sr. and Mary Wall Andrews Owen; his wife, Janie Skinner Andrews; and his lifelong friend, Edward "Tommy" O' Kennon.He is survived by four siblings, Louise A. Wilson (Ronald "Pete") of Chester, Jean Faye Crowder (Jack) of Dinwiddie, William "Billy" Owen II (Jenny) of Chester and Betty Jane Owen Holden of Chesterfield; five children, Donna Andrews Davis, Leslie "Skipper" M. Andrews III, Penny Love Andrews Brooks, Robin Andrews Hile, and Christopher T. Andrews; ten grandchildren, Allison, Mandy, Amy and Billy Kingery, Heather and Hunter Andrews, Brandon and Danielle Brooks, Hayley Stevens and Austin Andrews; and eight great-grandchildren, Emalie, Phillip, Taylar, Brent, Jordin, Ella, Will and Abby; and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to Bubba's significant other, Terry F. Jones, which he referred to as "His Angel" for loving him and taking such good care of him since 2009, and to Henry Owens, whom was his dear friend and helped take care of his business.A special thanks to the staff and doctors in the Neuroscience ICU at Johnston Willis Hospital for taking such good care of Bubba during his time with them. The family requests in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit at Johnston Willis Hospital, 1401 Johnston Willis Drive, Richmond, VA 23235.Family and friends visitation for Mr. Leslie "Bubba" M.
