A true legend!

Leonard Hadnot 56, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed peacefully at home with family and friends on May 26, 2021. Leonard was born on February 06, 1965 to mother Norma Jean Hankerson and father Harold Jewel Hadnot Sr.

Leonard was affectionately known as Silk. He graduated from Robert A.Taft high school in 1984. Later he earned a certification in asbestos. In addition, Silk pursued online college courses in business management in 2015. Silk worked various jobs, as well as giving back through multiple volunteer positions. After the loss of his sister Katherine Davis in 2003 to a drunk driver he advocated against drinking and driving.

He was a boxer for Golden Gloves later he began coaching. His true passion was working with the kids. Silk was known for his love of boxing and coaching he inflicted that love on all who knew him. He had the patience of Job, a personality bigger than New York City, a smile that would brighten any dim room, contagious confidence, a right hook like Tyson, his heart was as big as a whale, and his sight was like an eagle! Truly one of a kind. Silk loved dressing fashionably, smelling and eating good and dancing his butt off! He was always the life of the party and will truly be missed.

Silk met Serica (Star) his first true love in 2012, they married in 2015, she survives him and two children, SirJewel Hadnot (The Golden Child) and Day'lei Cavins (The Apple of his eye). Brothers, Ben and Little Harold, and sister Annette, his two granddaughters, as well as a host of other genuine family and friends.

My last love letter

Silk, you were my Superman, my protector, my confidant, my best friend. Losing you was extremely devastating my life will never be the same! You taught me so much, you taught me how to love, you loved me so hard. You were the best father to our kids! Every time we departed you reassured me of how much you loved me and our kids. Silk I miss and need you, your hugs, your kisses, your encouragement. I'm so lost without you my heart hurts. You know I will love and fight for you forever. Silk I knew when we met that you were a diamond in the rough! I also knew that most of your so called friends and fake family wasn't truly worthy of you , your love or friendship. I'm still your Shining Star and your SUPERWOMAN!! Silk you set the bar high and I love you baby! When you've had the best who needs the rest! It was such a privilege to have known and loved you. We share so many wonderful memories that I value tremendously. You were authentically admired and adored by many. Silk you were all that in my eyes (my soulmate, my everything). Baby, I'm so sorry that people who weren't active in your precious life showed up for your death. I'm sorry for the pretenders, the frauds, the fakes, the liars. They missed out on someone incredibly special. Rest easy baby! One thing for sure and two for certain you took your final breath knowing "I GOT THIS AND I WILL NOT LOSE" ! That brings me an abundance of comfort. On 5/26/21 the world lost another remarkable soul. Thank you for giving me the best of you! I love you beyond eternity. Until we meet again your first true and last love,

Star
