Celebrating the life of Leoala burton

Leoala burton was born September 5 1939 to Grant Burton Macie Williams of Dumas Arkansas. She Attended the public school school system in Dumas Arkansas. She later moved to Kansas City, Kansas in 1968

she lost her mother at the age of 28. As a result she assumed the parental role over her 4 siblings. She was the family matriarch. She was nurturer by nature a true caregiver. She spent her entire life caring for others. Whether it was her own children, siblings, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces or nephews. She truly had her hands on everybody’s life

She dedicated her life to Christ at an early age. She joined Faith deliverance COGIC in 1969 under pastor elder Lee H. Johnson. Ms. Burton continued her Membership under the Leadership of Paster Harold Lee Johnson Sr. Current Pastor Harold Lee Johnson Jr. At Faith Deliverance she served on the Hospitality Committee.

Ms. Burton was a commercial cook for Waid’s restaurant for many years. She continued her years of a commercial cooking at KC truck stop for over 20 years before retiring. After 20 she retired, she served as a foster grandparent for the Kansas City school district.

she loved to cook for family. She was famous for her greens and coon bread. Her greens and cornbread were so good that eating them with a fork was not needed. She also enjoyed baked sweet potatoes. She loved all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her children James E. Spencer, Sr., Bobby joe Spencer (Diane), Alonzo “Duck’ Bradley, Rose M. Tucker (Micheal), BarbaraD. Sloan (John). Christine Long (Robert); her siblings Robert L. Harris. Richard Harris, Morris Harris, (Glenice), Grant Burton, Albert Burton, Stanley Burton, Luella Freeman (Percy); Her precious fifteen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; one great great grandson grandson and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins FDFWC Church Family, other relatives and friends.
