Lawrence Tesei was born on October 15, 1922, in Madera , CA . After celebrating his 94th birthday, Lawrence peacefully passed away on Monday, October 24, 2016. Lawrence graduated from Madera High School in 1942. He served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. After returning home, Lawrence spent the rest of his life working in the fuel industry and was the founder of Tesei Petroleum. Lawrence was a passionate gardener and enjoyed woodworking. He was also very fond of playing cards with family and friends or at a casino. In the mornings, he could usually be found visiting with friends at a local coffee shop. He was also a member of the VFW and enjoyed their monthly dinners. Lawrence is survived by his wife of 67 years, Margaret Tesei; their daughter, Sandra Jo Tesei of San Luis Obispo, CA; son, Gail Tesei and his wife Alice of Madera, CA; and his grandsons, Kevin Tesei of Santa Barbara, CA, and Aaron Tesei of Fresno, CA . He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, including Patti Farinelli and Janice Wrobel. Visitation will be held at Jay Chapel on Sunday, October 30, 2016, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. followed directly with a Vigil and a Recitation of the Holy Rosary Service. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joachim Catholic Church on Monday, October 31, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., with Entombment to follow at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum , Madera, CA . In lieu of flowers, donations in Lawrence's name would be appreciated for Alegria Guild of Valley Children's Hospital, 9300 Valley Children's Pl., Madera, CA 93636; or VFW Post 1981, 2026 N.
