Keith Lynn CutlerFebruary 16, 1947 - February 16, 2016Keith Lynn Cutler, age 69, of Pocatello, Idaho, passed away peacefully at his home on February 16, 2016. He was born on February 16, 1947 in Pocatello, Idaho to Parley Elvin and Helen Ann (Burnett) Cutler. Keith graduated from Flandreau Indian School in Flandreau, South Dakota. Keith served in the US Army during Vietnam. He was an E5 Sgt for Americorps Company. By direction of the President, the bronze star medal was presented to him for his distinguished outstanding meritorious service in connection with military operations against a hostile force in the Republic of Vietnam. He consistently manifested exemplary professionalism and initiative in obtaining outstanding results. His rapid assessment and solution of numerous problems greatly enhanced the allied effectiveness against a determined and aggressive enemy. Despite many adversities, he invariably performed his duties in absolute and efficient manner. Energetically applying his sound judgement and extensive knowledge, he has contributed materially to the successful accomplishment of the United States mission in the Republic of Vietnam. His loyalty, diligence and devotion to duty were in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army. Not only did he receive the Bronze Star but numerous other citations.Following his honorable discharge from the military, Keith graduated from the North Dakota State School of Science, now known as the North Dakota State College of Sciences. Keith earned an Associate in Applied Science degree in the Electrical Technology program on May 28, 1971. He worked professionally as a Journeyman Electrician Licensee. Keith was proud of his heritage and was a member of the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes of Fort Hall, Idaho.Keith married Donnita Martin February 26, 1972. Together they had four children, Erik, Kenny, Shareen and Kathleen. From a previous marriage he also had a son, Casey. Donnita preceded him in death. He later married Donna Weston and they enjoyed eight years together before she passed away.Among his hobbies, Keith enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking and participating and fulfilling his duties with the Pocatello Veterans Honor Guard. He belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #735.Keith was preceded in death by his wives, his parents, and brother, Grey Cutler. He is survived by children, Erik Cutler, Kenny (Erin) Cutler, Kathleen Cutler, Shareen Cutler; grandchildren, Rhianna and Tessa, Jade, Kahner and Danica; brother, Mike; sisters, Patty and Anita. Honoring his wishes, Keith was cremated under the care of Downard Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held on Friday, Feb. 19th at 7:00 P.M. at Downard Funeral Home, 241 North Garfield Ave., Pocatello, ID.
