Judith Anne Pollard (Judy), 70, passed away on November 20, 2016 in Clear Lake, TX. She was born on September 18, 1946 in Florence, South Carolina to Phyllis and Arthur F. Lorton Jr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy H. Pollard, her mother, Phyllis Lorton and her father, Arthur F. Lorton Jr. Judy is survived by her daughters, Blaire Chapman, Sarah Pollard, and Shelley Baker and their husbands Brian Chapman, Shea Scott, and Adam Baker; sister, Linda Burnett; brother, Arthur (Tres) Lorton III; grandchildren, Jordyn Chapman and Avery Chapman, and numerous beloved family members and friends.

She earned a bachelor's degree from Southwestern University and spent many years teaching in elementary schools in the Austin and Houston areas.

Judy will be remembered as a woman with a compassionate heart and lively, hilarious spirit. She was an avid follower of current events and Houston sports teams. She was a champion for the underdog and disenfranchised, teaching her children and grandchildren to extend compassion, care, and advocacy to those who are marginalized.

Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 10:00 am at Clear Lake United Methodist Church, 16335 El Camino Real, Houston, TX 77062. Internment to followed at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
