Juanita Ann WheatleyLAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anne Catholic Church in Youngsville for Juanita Ann Wheatley, 72, who died on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at her residence in Lafayette surrounded by her family.Interment will be in St. Anne Cemetery.Reverend Jason Mouton, Pastor of St. Anne Catholic Church in Youngsville, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Lacey Albert and Hannah Lasseigne. Giftbearers will be Brandi Landry, Shawn Wheatley and Lynn Nell Romero. Musical selections will be "Amazing Grace", "How Great Thou Art", "Wind Beneath My Wings" and "The Rose".She leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved husband of 52 years, Frank B. "Chuck" Wheatley, Jr.; two daughters, Toni W. Breaux and her husband, Kevin of Milton and Tricia W. Lasseigne and her husband, Shannon of Maurice; one son, Troy Wheatley and his wife, Shawn of Youngsville; eight grandchildren, Lacey Albert, Brandi Landry, Cameron Wheatley, Kolby Breaux, Kollin Breaux, Kyle Breaux, Hannah Lasseigne and Hayden Lasseigne; three great-grandchildren, Madison Albert, Mallie Albert and Kennedi Landry; and four brothers, Charles Romero, Harris Romero and his wife, Linda, Edward Romero, Jr. and his wife, Lynn Nell, and Christian Romero. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Romero, Sr. and Mable Menard Romero; two sisters-in-law, Patricia W. Forsythe and Judith Romero; and her in-laws, Frank Wheatley, Sr. and Marjorie R. Wheatley.Juanita Romero Wheatley was born on December 27, 1943 in Youngsville, Louisiana and was a resident of Lafayette for most of her life. She graduated from Youngsville High School on 1961 and learned how to speak French before learning English. She met and married her beloved husband of 52 years, "Chuck", and settled in Lafayette. Mrs. Wheatley worked for First National Bank, Guarantee Bank, and retired from Whitney Bank where she received numerous awards for her outstanding work. She also worked as a substitute teacher for the Lafayette Parish School Board and was admired by many of her students. Juanita was a dedicated wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and mother-in-law who will always be remembered for her love of her family, her kind heart and her generosity. She never knew a stranger and became a great friend to all who crossed her path.Juanita enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, loved hunting, fishing, and weekend get-a-ways to the camp. You could always see her dancing or singing to her Conway Twitty songs. She always had a kind word to say about everyone and was always able to help others turn negatives in positives. Juanita will be dearly missed.Pallbearers will be Troy Wheatley, Kevin Breaux, Shannon Lasseigne, Kolby Breaux, Kyle Breaux, Kollin Breaux and Cameron Wheatley. Honorary pallbearers will be Hayden Lasseigne, Edward Romero, Jr., Brandon Albert and Trey Landry.A Rosary will be recited on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE Location.The family requests that visitation be observed on Friday from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of services.View the obituary and guestbook online at www.mourning.comMartin & Castille - SOUTHSIDE, 600 E.
