Joseph P. Sandamena Obituary

Mar 20, 1992 - Jan 25, 2016

This obituary is administered by:
Joseph P. Sandamena, adored son of Pamela C. Aiello of Windsor Locks and Michael J. Sandamena of Windsor, died tragically in East Granby on Tuesday, October 25, 2016. Joey was born on March 19, 1992 in Hartford and grew up in Windsor. He was a handsome, humorous, well - liked, smart, and spirited 24-year-old man with a lifetime of adventure ahead of him. Joey attended Windsor and Canton High Schools, he continued his education at NETTTS receiving his Class A Operator's license in 2014. Joey was employed as a driver at Specialty Steel Treating Inc. in East Granby at the time of his passing. Joey was a kind and loyal friend and someone people could talk to easily. His family will miss his self-expression, silly tendencies, love of vibrant colors, as well as his theatrical side. Although painful to acknowledge at this moment, it would disrespect Joey's memory not to mention the passion he had for riding his motorcycle. Feeling the wind on his face was freeing and exhilarating, like flying. At a young age Joey also knew sorrow and loss. He said goodbye to his best friend Eddie in January of 2013 and at the time of his passing wore a bracelet made from Eddie's bike chain in remembrance. Joey will continue to wear this symbol of loyalty with him on his journey to meet all those who are no longer with us. Those of us left behind should learn from Joey's example, the meaning of devotion, dedication, passion and love. In addition to his parents, Joey is loved and mourned by a wealth of family and friends including his sister, Nicholle "Nikki" Sandamena and her boyfriend Nick, Pamela's fiancé Salvatore Formica; grandmothers, Nancy C. (Aiello) Barber and Francesca (Orsini) Strong; aunts, Kathleen Davis and Franny Sandamena-Pace; uncles, Tommy Sandamena and Richard Pace; cousins, Jessica Ransom and her son Giovanni Aiello, Felicia Kubicki, Tommy and Josh Sandamena and several great aunts and uncles, cousins, and countless friends, classmates, and co-workers. He was predeceased by his niece, Celina Sandamena; grandfathers, Joseph L. Sandamena and Philip H. Barber; great-grandparents, Peter and Carmela Aiello. Joey will now be an angel to watch over his nephew Kenji who is expected to arrive in December and although they will never meet in person he will always know who his Uncle Joey is. Joey's family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, October 29, 2016 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. at The Lodge Community Chapel, 130 Deerfield Rd., Windsor, CT 06095. His funeral service will begin on Saturday at 12 p.m. in The Lodge with burial following in St. Joseph Cemetery in Poquonock. Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., of Windsor has care of his arrangements. To send online notes of condolences, please visit www.carmonfuneralhome.com.
